The challenge

Our brief was the delivery of a replacement facility for a private blood products manufacturing company to the south of Edinburgh. The new facility includes office and welfare accommodation in addition to substantial product manufacturing, warehouse and despatch areas. Many of the required processes necessitate the use of “clean room” facilities and as such the servicing of the facility is relatively complex.

Our solution

Because of this complexity, the structure, which is a braced steel frame, needed careful and skilful coordination with the servicing strategy. Beyond this complexity, key to our success was limiting vibration and movement within the frame design because of the nature of the facility’s use.
